Holidays at Home in Pajamas
If you have been following along, this will be just our second Christmas spent here in New York City. Outside of last year, we have always traveled back to the midwest and split time between our two families. Last year, after Sebastian was born in early December, we stayed in the city but my parents flew out and spent the holiday with us. It will be tough not to have our extended family around us for Christmas but we are looking forward to spending the holidays here and not having to travel at all.
We are taking advantage of the time at home for the holidays by getting into the spirit early. Ok, really early. But, why not? It’s such a fun time of year. On the weekends we will be doing a lot of lounging around the apartment and probably in our amazing matching pajamas. We got them at Target along with all our Christmas decorations. They have so much to choose from! Likes these Rugby Stripes Pajamas, Santa Family Pajamas or these Elf Pajamas.
This is one of the few times throughout the year where we get to dress up in the same attire together, hopefully, it will become a tradition. As it was for Halloween this year! That was so much fun! I think we enjoyed it more than Sebastian. There is something about everyone in the family laying around the tree in their pajamas, opening gifts. If only Christmas was every quarter!
Gifts for Baby
As for gifts, like most I assume, we are trying to get our shopping done early. This is key for us because our entire extended family is far away and we want to make sure everything is shipped on time before all the festivities start back home. Matt actually has a great system. He buys everything online and ships it to his parent’s house back home and they pass out the gifts to everyone for us. It’s easy to keep track of everything and they are so sweet and wrap up the gifts and pass them out for us.
Gifts for Him
My favorite places to shop for gifts for him: Pottery Barn, Bloomingdales, Marks & Spencer and J.Crew
Matt and I typically don’t exchange gifts, but this year we made the promise to go all out. That’s why I’m putting together his list early. Here’s a long list of things I want to give him for Christmas.
I’m so excited to have our first official Christmas at home, even more excited to wake up in our matching pajama sets! What are some of your family traditions? Would love to hear what you do every year with your family.
Tomorrow we’re going to launch our Holiday Gift Guide. If you’d like an early sneak peek, sign up for our newsletter and we’ll get it sent to your inbox as soon as we publish it later tonight!
