The Ideal Getaway in Wine Country with Cambria Hotels

Back to the stunning Sonoma County that has provided so many great memories for us. We had the incredible opportunity to visit again one of our favorite locations: Wine Country. In partnership with Cambria Hotels, we flew out to Sonoma to once again explore the region we visited so often when we lived out in San Francisco. This marked Hugo’s first trip to California and Sebastian’s second trip out to wine country.

We got to stay at the brand new Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country, which is located just outside Sonoma in Rohnert Park. It’s extremely easy to get to from the Bay Area, whether you are flying into San Francisco, Oakland or Sacramento. We flew into SFO, rented a car and drove about 70-75 minutes to the hotel.

Wine Country was always our favorite place to visit when we lived in San Francisco. We would drive up and spend the day visiting our favorite wineries and shopping in downtown Sonoma. On this trip, we wanted to relive some of those memories with the boys and it turned out to be so much fun. Had a chance to see and spend some time outside at a few old wineries.

Having food and wine tastings in the courtyard at Robert Mondavi was so great. It was picturesque and a great way to wind down the day with the kids. We stopped in at the local grocer to grab items for a picnic. We grabbed wine, bread, cheese, pizza and some sweets and got a picnic table right next to a vineyard. The kids had a blast. At the end of the day, downtown Sonoma is a great place to hang out before heading home for the evening. We stopped in at the creamery for some ice cream before hanging out in the park listening to live music. No matter how many times we go to this part of the country, it never gets old or less beautiful – the perfect trip to get away and relax with the kids.

More About Our Wonderful Hosts –  Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country

This new hotel is so thoughtfully designed and displays the gorgeous setting of the area. As you enter the hotel, you are met with a stunning lobby. Plenty of spacious seating to relax and one of the most gorgeous bars I have ever seen. The on-site restaurant and bar, Sam & Mary’s, offers a selection of locally inspired dishes, specialty cocktails and craft beers from Sonoma County brewers. We ate breakfast and dinner out on their beautifully lit outdoor patio with plenty of great seating. The patio has heat lamps and fire pits to keep you warm and gives you a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy their delicious food. If you don’t have time to stop and eat, the hotel has a 24/7 marketplace with freshly prepared grab-and-go options.

The Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country is also participating in Choice Hotels’ Commitment to Clean, an initiative that builds upon a long-standing dedication to cleanliness with enhanced training and best practices for cleaning, disinfecting and social distancing, and can help give you peace of mind when you choose to travel again.

Our room, The King Parlour Suite, gave us plenty of space to relax in the room. We watched movies on the sofa in the living area. The sophisticated guestrooms are complete with design forward fixtures, abundant lighting, plush bedding, and immersive, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors that will help you unwind and relax after a long day. We listened to the Travel Inspired with Cambria Hotels podcast through the Bluetooth mirror on Apple Podcasts (also available on Spotify, Google Podcasts, etc.) to keep up with the latest travel insights. I recommend listening to Cambria’s podcast before you book your stay at the Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country for insight on how to make the most of your next trip and enjoy approachable indulgences while on the road.

Each room has a Keurig coffee machine and refrigerator in the room, which is super convenient. Within the hotel, they also have a state-of-the-art fitness center that boasts Peloton bikes and everything you need to get your workouts in while on vacation. It makes the perfect home-base for your wine-tasting getaway. I almost forgot Sebastian’s absolute favorite part of the trip, the outdoor heated pool! He talks all about it every time we reminisce about our trip. Thank you for being such gracious hosts, Cambria Hotel Sonoma Wine Country!

Appreciate everyone for following along and please let me know if you have any questions about the hotel and area. I would love to hear from you.

xo, Olivia
