When temperatures drop, the natural instinct is to bundle up. I’m no different but the truth is I love a good skirt. Even with the weather, I still find ways to wear to my favorites. Right now the temperatures in NYC are still on the mild side for this time of year. It offers me a bit of flexibility for styling outfits. Pants are great but in the end, I can’t resist a skirt and heels. Here are my 3 favorite skirts for winter.

Mini Skirt With Boots

I recently started wearing over the knee boots quite a bit. I had to get used to styling them but pairing them with a skirt is one of my favorite looks. They also look great with a dress or a jumper like here. Pairing a mini skirt with over the knee boots is perfect for winter. Exposed skin is minimal and on a particularly cold day, you can add a thick pair of tights.

Pleated Midi Skirt

This is the kind of skirt that is flattering on everyone. You can find this style everywhere right now. The movement of the skirt when you walk is beautiful. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen this style a few times. It’s also versatile enough for work and the weekend.  I personally love pairing it with a cozy sweater and pumps. Sequin Skirt

How could I leave out sequins this time of year? As far as I’m concerned it’s perfectly acceptable to wear a sequin skirt day or night when styled appropriately. I also love sequin skirts that come in some of the more unexpected colors outside of the traditional silver and gold. You can go for more subtle styles or ones that make a statement. These styles will add a little extra fun in your day to day wardrobe.

As the weather continues to get colder, I’ll do things like add tights, choose thicker fabrics, and pair boots with longer skirts to keep warm. What’s your favorite style of skirt to wear in winter?
