Make a Statement in Yellow This Summer

When shopping for clothes everyone has their go-to color palette. For most people, yellow doesn’t make the cut. For some reason, it tends to scare people away. I get it. It’s a bold choice in a lot of cases. However, I feel like it gets a bad rap. People don’t rave about it the same way they do about purples and pinks. Red tends to be the bold color of choice. Then there are the neutrals and the classic black and white combinations. How could yellow possibly compete? This dress by Capulet is one answer to that question.

All About The Shade

Now, this isn’t a super bold shade. It’s this pretty pale muted shade of yellow that comes across very feminine.  I loved this shade because it was a nice alternative at the time to all of the traditional pastels for Spring. I wanted a little something different. You can find the hue that works best for you. There’s one that will fit your style and look great on you. There are so many different shades of yellow to play with. The cut of this dress is also amazing and the strap details are also a great touch.

Introducing Yellow

You don’t have to wear all yellow to test out this color either. This was an easy one due to its shade. There are so many ways to incorporate this underrated color into your wardrobe. Prints, where the background color is yellow, is one way to start introducing the color for those that don’t shy away from colorful clothing. This one by Chriselle x JOA is a great option. Accessories are another excellent option for those of us who aren’t as bold whether it’s a pair of earrings or a purse.

It Is Flattering

I think a lot of people shy away once they hear yellow because they think it won’t be flattering. This dress worked on both myself and my friend Kristen. As you can see, Kristen has blonde hair with fair skin. It didn’t wash her out. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Truth is, I think you can make just about color family work for you if it’s in the right shade.

Summer is almost here. As you’re shopping and see that really pretty dress or the cute top and instinctively reach for your normal color, try something a little different. Grab the yellow one.

What colors do you typically wear and what color do you want to try wearing?

  1. I agree with you, yellow definitely has a polarizing effect. The pale shade of this dress however is actually super flattering. Especially with a subtle tan! Love the love for spring events.

This pale yellow is so pretty ! The trends this summer have a lot of brilliant yellows, and mustard yellows. Unfortunately many can’t wear those hues . Where as this beautiful tone suits so many ! I love the yellow roses .
