Gearing up for the Holidays

We are so excited for the holidays this year! It will be different than years past for couple reasons. Since out baby boy is due in just over a week, we haven’t been traveling and are staying in Manhattan for Christmas. Most years we travel back to the midwest to spend the holidays with our families so it’s actually a nice change of pace to be able to relax and stay at home. Matt’s parents came in town to celebrate Thanksgiving with us and my parents are going to be here celebrating Christmas. This time of year is all about spending time with family so we are thankful they will be in town to celebrate the holidays with us and get to meet their new grandson.

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the time spent in the kitchen with my mom. Home cooking and baking cookies is something we both grew up doing and I’m so excited my mom will be helping us out in the kitchen this year. She is an amazing cook and fixes up all her delicious Mexican entrees. Enchiladas & Christmas Cookies? Yes, please! Matt and I are huge fans of decorating for Christmas. We always get a tree early, dress it up, and get the stockings hung over the fireplace. During the holidays, for whatever reason, we find ourselves in our pyjamas a lot more often than we usually do throughout the year. Not sure why but it just feels right. While we do a lot of our shopping online because our family is all out of town (and it’s just easier), we still manage to pick up things here in the city and want to wrap them up and ship to them to family & friends. I consider myself a good wrapper of gifts and can’t wait for our little one to open up his first Christmas gifts with us on Christmas morning. Oh, the anticipation!

This year we partnered with Marks & Spencer to help us ring in the Holidays. If you aren’t familiar with them, they are an amazing brand. Marks & Spencer is a British retailer based out of London with everything from clothes, furniture, beauty products, food & wine, accessories and everything you need for the holidays. Here are their ‘Gifts for Her‘ & ‘Gifts for Him‘. Check them out at We love our jammies! How cute is Matt’s Bulldog Sweater. Their noses actually light up! For the ladies, my onesie pyjama set is amazing! I’ve been wearing that a lot around the house, even with the bump. Look forward to wrapping up these gifts for our little one and putting them under our tree.marks-and-spencer-holiday-collection4
