3 Styling Tricks For Looking Taller

When it comes to height, it’s something that I was not blessed with in life. Standing at just a little over 5’1″, it can be a struggle to look longer and leaner in photos. There are lots of tricks but I’ve narrowed it down to a few of my favorites. So, if you’re ever wondering how to give yourself some height, check out a few of my favorite styling tricks I use on a daily basis.

1. Pick the right pants

Finding the right type of pants for your body is key when you’re looking for height. The ones that are most flattering to my style are vertical stripes or pants like I’m wearing in today’s post with buttons down the seam. I wore something similar to NYFW. With styling, it’s all about an optical illusion. with clothing. There are so many tricks to fooling the eye to longer legs, leaner shape and an overall put together look.

2. Wear Pointed Toe Shoes

Now that it’s starting to get cooler out, boots are everywhere. One trend that will immediately make you look longer is the sock boot. The material is fitted to your leg, not giving you that extra bulk and the pointed style will instantly add a few inches to your silhouette.

3. Tuck in your shirt

In my constant struggle to be cooler, I’m trying to tuck in my shirt less. I’ll be honest, it doesn’t do much for my body. It makes me look frumpy. If you want to give yourself a nice waistline, tuck in your top and opt for more higher waisted pants.

Sizing* I’m wearing a size small in the coat. I’ve been buying things a little bigger lately. Nowadays, I like when they’re not as fitted. The pants are size 0 and run a little big, so I’d order a size down. The top fits true to size and I’m wearing a size xs. The black sock booties are my favorite for the season, they also come in nudeI think I’m going to buy them! I’m typically between sizes, but this particular style I bought a size 6.

Are you all into the oversize look this season? I didn’t think I would be into it but I am really coming around. Love to hear if you have any other tricks to share. Thanks everyone!

I think oversize is always better than over fitted.
