New Summer Workwear
This time of year, we are beginning to turn over our closets. The crates with our warm weather clothes come in and the winter clothes go out. I love the feeling of a fresh start to my wardrobe. Even though I have a lot of great pieces that stay with me season after season, there are always pieces I need to fill out my summer wardrobe, workwear included. Suits, skirts and heels stick around and I get to mix in great pieces to complete my work wardrobe. A few blouses, a dress or two, and some accessories. Oh, and some new heels, of course. As you know, if you have been following along for a while, I have been fortunate enough to work with White House Black Market and share their collections with you over the past couple years. Their new Summer 1 Collection is out with great staple pieces to add to your wardrobe and plenty of options to accessorize and complete your looks. My White Beaded-Sleeve Blouse gives you so many options when it comes to your daily work looks. Pair with these Black Cropped Wide-Leg Pants, which scream summer in NYC. Summer may not be the season known for black, but here in Manhattan, black lives all year long. How cute are these black Patent Leather Strappy Heels?
Summer Staples
While I love black, I have to mix in color now more than ever. I won’t stretch my wardrobe too much when it comes to color, however, I have been a lot more adventurous as of late. If you tend to stay more neutral, start off with small additions of color. A Blush Blouse can be paired with a white skirt or a dark pair of pants. Love the look and feel of this Clip Dot Blouse as well. Some print is always an easy way to look the season but also gives you plenty of options for color. Floral is always a popular choice and while I tend not to wear it for workwear, this A-Line Soft Dress is gorgeous and subtle enough to mix in, especially for work parties or events. And if ever there was a time of year to get behind white dresses and suits, this is the time. A Fit and Flare dress is classic in summer and if you like jumpsuits, this Illusion Neckline is great.
Petite Picks
Whether you stick with your usual style or you step outside your typical outfits, this transitional period is a great way to freshen up your options. Look for pieces that complement the ones already in your wardrobe. Sometimes all it takes is a little print here or a little color there. There is hidden potential in our wardrobes if we take the time to look. Happy Shopping!!
