Getting a Head Start on Spring
The countdown to spring has officially started in our home. Maybe it’s the move or maybe I’m just ready for better weather but I can’t wait for days to get just a little bit longer and warmer. One of my favorite things about living NYC is all of the activities available to us as a family. However, sometimes winter can really put a damper on this. We’re ready to get out and enjoy a bit of sunshine and the city. Sebastian is definitely ready to show off more of his scooter skills too! Here are some of my favorite ways to get a head start on spring.
Go Outside
I know the weather isn’t always ideal but it’s amazing what a little fresh air can do for your mood. Raising a toddler in the city, it’s so important for us to get out and explore with him. So much of living in NYC is experiencing what the city has to offer. It’s tempting to hibernate till the weather starts cooperating but get outside and get moving. I’m hard-pressed to think of a time when we didn’t regret our trips to the playground or checking out a new neighborhood. The key is to just have some fun!
Spring Cleaning
If you’re like a lot of people, myself included, you probably got a head start on the tidying up craze that kicked off the New Year. For those that haven’t started or never quite finished, now is a great time to tackle a few projects to get things cleaned up and in order. After the move, we were able to really sort through our belongings and figure out what no longer works for us. With Sebastian getting older I regularly have to sort through his clothes for items that no longer fit. The items that are in good shape I then donate. There’s something invigorating about a refreshed space that really helps you usher in a new season.
Get Colorful
If the sun isn’t out then sometimes it’s up to you bring the color. Spring is known for florals, colorful prints, and just a bolder presence when it comes to your wardrobe. Introducing bright colors instantly changes the mood and gets me ready for spring. It brightens up even the dullest of days on the way to Spring. Don’t be afraid to have some fun with your fashion. It’s also a good time to start transitioning certain pieces out of rotation while moving others in.
I’ve already started to pick up a number of items, especially to prepare between the transition between winter and spring. I wanted to get practical items that were also fun and suited our active lifestyle. We love to have fun together and need clothes that reflect that. I’m excited to partner with Old Navy to prepare our family for spring. Old Navy is one stop shopping for our entire family. How cute are Matt and Sebastian in their matching high-tops? You can find these styles in store or online at Oldnavy.com.
What’s your favorite way to usher in spring?
