Travel Wish List for 2018
We kicked off our travels this year with a quick weekend getaway to Quebec City. This week we’re adding Turks and Caicos to the list. Matt and I love to travel. Sebastian is working on his travel bug too. It’s important to us to get out of our New York City bubble, whether it’s a big trip abroad or just a road trip a few hours away. Over the last few weeks, we’ve started to discuss where we’d like to go this year
Here’s our travel wish list for 2018:
Colombia
We’ve been before and loved it. Matt has a friend that lives there and always knows the best little places to get arepas and some of the world’s best coffee. You have the beaches, the mountains, and rainforests. It truly is beautiful. Right now we’re thinking we’ll go to Cartagena and Medellín. If you ever get the chance to travel there, I can’t recommend it enough.
Bali
This will be a first for us and we’re excited. We’re going in celebration of a friend leading up to her wedding. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this Indonesian “Island of the Gods”. It’s supposed to be a really spiritual place. There’s a little bit of something for everyone there whether you want to relax, take in the views on the hiking trails, or experience the local cuisine.

Australia
This one we will be piggybacked off of the Bali trip since we’ll be so close. Matt and I figured if we’re going to be traveling that far we might as well take advantage and spend a little time in Australia. We haven’t narrowed down which part(s) we want to visit just yet. We’d love to hear suggestions! I keep seeing pictures from Bondi Beach though and it looks amazing.
Monaco
We’ll be attending my friend’s wedding. It’ll be an absolute dream destination wedding. Monaco is a city-state in the south of France known for its stunning coastline and casinos. I’ll have to get Matt to channel his inner James Bond while we’re there. I can’t wait to roam the streets and wander in and out of the shops.

If you guys have any recommendations I’d love to hear them. What are your travel plans this year?

My husband and I went to Sydney and Melbourne last August and absolutely loved it. Each of the cities are amazing with so much to see. If you go to Melbourne, go to St. Kilda Beach around sunset. You will see the Fairy Penguins swim back to the rocks and they get so close to you. Take in an Australian Rules Football game; so cool. Definitely check out Bondi Beach and Manly Beach and walk over the Harbour Bridge while in Sydney. We also went to a wildlife sanctuary outside Sydney and got to see so many animals and we held a koala! Oh, and drink the wine. The wine is so different in that region of the world.
Bali is such an exquisite place – you’ll love it!

It has been fun following your travels with Sebastian! Traveling with kids is not always easy and it still isn’t hassle free as they get older. Less stuff, but a bit more attitude and moodiness. 😉 When they were younger we always booked a baby-sitter at the hotel so we could have a nice night out on the town without the littles. We started traveling with our kids when they were babies and they are now teens and love to explore new places! We are headed to Rome and the Amalfi Coast this summer. I look forward to following more of your travels this year! Enjoy Turks and Caicos! 🙂
