Booties are a fall wardrobe staple for a reason. They’re comfortable enough to wear for hours, and you can easily take a pair of black booties from day to night — what’s not to love about that? I wanted to share 5 booties that are trendy this season and how to best to style them.

VELVET

Probably my favorite trend this season. Not that velvet is anything new, but I feel this season it has really taken off. It started in the summer. Even though most would consider velvet to be more of a cooler season trend. You can definitely pull off velvet booties all year long. If you love investing in pieces that can be worn year round, then you’ll appreciate this trend.

LEOPARD

Love that leopard is being talked about so much this fall. The print is so gorgeous and love how it can turn an otherwise boring or subdued look and make it interesting. The booties can be worn with denim, trousers or skirt. Even better, a leather skirt. The best, a black faux leather skirt.

WHITE

Put a rest to one of fashion’s greatest myths by going for a white bootie for fall. Stark white color makes the perfect contrast to any cool-weather ensemble. They are bold and chic. Paired with the right outfit, you have a statement outfit that will turn heads whatever the occasion.

SOCK

Cuff your jeans up a roll or two to show off a pair of eye-catching ankle boots. in love with the stretchy boots. The fitted fabrics are designed to hug your ankles, which creates a slimming effect. And several styles are made with chunky heels, making them a lot easier to walk in compared to traditional stilettos.

Suede

Let’s be honest, a pair of suede nude booties never really go out of style as they can pretty much go with anything. That being said, I really think skin-toned “neutrals” are best used with simpler outfits. What I love most about them is how versatile they are. Neutral doesn’t have to mean boring. On the contrary, it frees you up to work with many different looks and colors. Love them with jeans, whether cuffed, frayed or straight over the top.

I wear booties all year and they scream fall to me. Love walking through Central Park with Matt and Sebastian, sipping coffee. Whichever style is your favorite, as always, have fun with it. Mix and match. Just don’t store them away at the end of the season as they are simply too versatile not to have at your disposal all year long.
