New Year’s Day in Central Park
Hope everyone is having an amazing start to the New Year (here’s how we started 2017)!
Yesterday, we took a little trip up to Central Park with Sebastian and Batman. As you might remember from previous posts, it’s one of our favorite places in the city. I must say, heading up to the park is a little different nowadays. When Matt and I first moved here, we’d pack up a bag with water and a few snacks and headed out the door. After we got Batman, we packed up a few more bags. Now that we have a newborn, our preparation takes a little longer. We have a stroller, tote, camera bag, doggie carrier bag (can’t take him in cab without one), and a baby! Phew! Thank goodness for Matt, he got us all packed up and ready to go while I nursed Sebastian.
With the weather being in the high forties, the park was full of blissful tourists and New Yorkers enjoying the first of the year. We typically come to the park for Batman to enjoy off-leash hours (before 9am) are the best as it’s so quiet. It is simply a magical place that has a little bit of everything. Regardless of the season, we love to ride our bikes, take walks, and have picnics in the Great Lawn. There are all sorts of little nooks to get away from the crowds and just relax. The weather was perfect for this time of year so Matt and I wanted to take Sebastian to the park to kick off the New Year. He was so calm and relaxed.
We can’t wait for him to experience the rest of the city with us. He and Batman running around in the park together is going to be so cute. For our next trip to the park, we are going to take him to watch all the skaters at Wollman Rink! I hope it snows a little bit, there is nothing better than skating in the snow!
