Our Favorite Gifts for Expecting And New Moms
The expecting and new mom is always in need of a few things. A lot of the time it’s either things they didn’t know they needed or something simple and practical to improve their daily life with the baby. Here are some gifts that I wish I would have had during my pregnancy and some that are still on my list.
One: The Emme Bags are perfect for packing up your toiletries for the hospital. They also work great to pack up any baby accessories while traveling, especially since they have two zip out pouches for liquids and other items. They come with 12 TSA approved bottles with labels. They’re truly multifunctional and once we start traveling with Sebastian, they will be perfect. Can’t wait!
Two: When I found out I was expecting, I didn’t necessarily crave out of the ordinary foods, but I did start to crave EVERYTHING! Cravings by Chrissy Teigen shares some of her favorite recipes from family, friends and the web. This will keep any expecting mom busy in the kitchen!
Three: Any mom can probably agree, our bodies go through some interesting phases during those nine months and our skincare is ever so important to maintain. The Foreo cleaner exfoliates your skin within a minute. This little device is also perfect to throw in a hospital tote, like your Emme Bag. Would be great to use to freshen up at the hospital.
Four: Throughout my pregnancy, walking was one of the most important things I did throughout the day and my Fitbit helped me stay on track with my goals. The new mom will love this little gift as she tracks her fitness and health progress throughout the pregnancy and post pregnancy!
Five: After delivering Sebastian, I spent most of my time in my robe at the hospital. It would have been great to have multiple robes to change in and out of during my stay. The expecting mom will need a set of robes as she’ll be living in them at the hospital and for a period at home afterwards.
Six: The new mom will have a few extra bags to pack up before heading out the door, why not give her one that’s really chic and stylish? This Tory Burch tote makes for a the perfect accessory for mom and baby!
Seven: Expecting moms will want a few nights where you can unwind with a relaxing bath, pre-baby and post-baby! She’ll be delighted when she opens up this lavender gift set this holiday season.
Eight: Socks, socks, socks! These will not go unused for the new mom! After a long day at work, she’ll want to come home, take off her heels, and slip into a pair of comfortable socks. While at the hospital, she’ll want to have a few pair as well to keep her warm. For me, I wore a few different pairs at the hospital and now that I’m home, I find myself wearing the most cozy socks I can get my hands on!
Nine: I got some amazing advice from one of my closest friends, Fallon, on bringing some type of candy or hard candy in our hospital bag. The morning I started having contractions, I had Matt run out and grab two bags of Jolly Ranchers. These were lifesavers throughout the deliver. I even shared them with the nurses! She’ll be delighted to open up a box of gummies and indulge! So buy her a few treats and tell her to tuck those away till delivery day! She’ll thank you!
Ten: Here’s another lifesaver at the hospital. If you’re looking for stocking stuffers for a new mom, grab her this tin of Rosebud Salve and remind her to toss this in her hospital bag. She’ll want to moisturize her lips while waiting for her little one to arrive!
Eleven: From cozy joggers to new tennis shoes, the new mom will love having comfortable loungewear to throw on after a few sleepless nights.
Twelve: Everyone is busy, and an expecting mom is always on the go and needs to be fully charged…just in case she needs to get in touch with someone. While at the hospital, she’ll be taking videos, photos, Facetiming, etc. and her battery will drain quickly. This will give her that extra charge. Of course, after the baby she’ll always want to feel safe with an extra battery pack while out and about. This charger is an ultimate necessity for the expectant and new mom!
Thirteen: This is the hospital bag I used to pack up all the things I needed for the big day. For after the big day, the new mom will have an extra travel bag to pack up all the baby’s goodies for any overnight trips to grandma and grandpa’s house!
