WorkWear | Investment Pieces
Today is a roundup of a few of my favorite fall investment pieces for the everyday working woman!
Pleated Skirt
In fall, we need a skirt that can be worn with stilettos and tights, but can also be worn with your favorite ankle booties. Although this skirt is a little more on the trendy side, it’s a perfect way to bring a little fun into your office wardrobe. If the metallic is a little too much for your work attire, try a color like this one for a more conservative look.
Knit Sweater
Your favorite knit sweater! I know it’s tempting to buy every cozy knit sweater on the market, but invest in 2-3 versatile sweaters that can be worn for work and play. Stick with a neutral color like grey or tan. For those days you just want to walk into the office wearing a blanket, just add heels and tailored trousers and you look like a million bucks!
Work Tote
If you’ve been saving up to buy the perfect work bag, now is the time! Buy something a little oversized that can be worn to work, meetings and traveling. After years of commuting back and forth to the office, along with traveling a lot for work, the over the shoulder strap is key! Make sure that anything you buy has the necessary over the shoulder strap!
Neutral Coat
Nearly every season a tan coat is a closet staple for every high fashion style icon. The coat I picked out above is my personal favorite. It’s currently on my “to buy” list, so I thought I’d share it in today’s round up! The coat is structured and trendy, yet very professional. Love the idea of wearing this into the office with your favorite black dress and tights during those cold fall mornings.
Blush Trousers
This color has been all over the runways and these blush trousers are anything but boring! Ditch your black trousers and start incorporating a softer color into your wardrobe. They can be worn with the likes of a black turtleneck, blazer or feminine blouse. The outfit possibilities are endless! For the perfect trousers, be sure to spend the few extra bucks to get them tailored to fit you perfectly.
Feminine Blouse
This goes back to my statement regarding sweaters, you don’t need a ton of work blouses, you just need a few really good ones! This season these dainty detailed have been on trend. It’s the perfect way to incorporate this style into your wardrobe…without over doing it!
Trendy Sunglasses
We all have those mornings where it’s so cold that we don’t even want to think about going into the office. So we need to brighten up our mornings with a nice pair of sunglasses (they also cover-up our sleepy eyes) as we walk or commute to work. As much as I love my black sunglasses, these can go with almost anything in your fall wardrobe.
Black Heels
Is it time to update your work heels? Since I wear tights a lot more during the fall and winter, I tend to update my closet with at least one pair of new heels. My other heels are either stretched out or don’t look good with a pair of solid black tights. For those ladies who love a good high heel, you’ll love this height. They also have a smaller height heel here.
Double Breast Blazer
You might be a little tired of your one button up black blazer, so opt for a double breasted blazer to add a little variety to your collection. This blazer would look good with almost anything. It is an ideal day to night piece from your 9am meeting to 7pm cocktails with friends!
