The Cross Bun | Hair Tutorial
It’s long overdue but I want to start sharing more on the blog about how I prepare my hair, the products I use, and product recommendations on all things beauty. One of the areas I struggled with early on was how to style my hair everyday for work. Wearing your hair the same way all the time can get boring. Even if you have beautiful long locks, it’s nice to give yourself a little change and try something new.
Tonight I’m sharing an easy hair tutorial that’s super easy and something to try on your own. This look is created with a bun maker, but it also looks amazing with a messy bun. Since my hair is wavy and thick, a more structured works best for me with this hair style.
Here are some of the products used in today’s post:
Let’s get started!
Step 1: To start off this hairstyle, section off the front of your hair. Clip it and put it aside.
Step 2: Put the remaining hair in a medium/high bun.
Step 3: I’m using the bun maker, but it can also be created as a messy bun.
Next, divide and conquer!
Step 4: Part remaining hair down the middle (I look ridiculous in this photo)
Step 5: Place the right section of the hair over the left section of the hair and tuck behind the bun
Step 6: Place the left section of the hair over the right section of the hair and tuck behind the bun
*Use bobby pins to hold hair in place.
To hold down baby hairs and fly-aways, I lightly spray my hair with hairspray. There you go! A different way to wear a bun tomorrow to the office! Again, not moving mountains with the hairstyle, but something different to try opposed to a slick back bun at the office.
Hope you enjoyed tonight’s read. We hope to have a few more days of the week where we can provide more of this type of content on Corporate Catwalk.

Love this! Definitely trying on my “last day before I wash” 🙂
Oh wow, it looks great Olivia. I don’t think I have enough hair for it.. 🙁
So freaking cute!
Your hair looks so nice! I work every day too in a professional role and I always like learning about new ways to do my hair. Great tutorial!
