What is Texturizing Spray?

I LOVE dry shampoo. I don’t think I could get through the week without it, as I’m sure a lot of you can relate. It’s been a game changer and there are tons of options on the market. I’ve mentioned my love for Oribe on a number of occasions, especially when it comes to their Dry Texturizing Spray. For those who don’t currently use a Dry Texturizing Spray, it might be your new favorite product. Some people assume it’s the same as a dry shampoo but once you understand the difference you can really step up your hair game.

What is Texturizing Spray?

Texturizing sprays, much like dry shampoo, absorb oil and dirt to leave your hair feeling cleaner and feeling fresh. You can revive your hair and extend the time between washes. However, texturizing spray goes a step further. It doesn’t just give you cleaner hair, it adds a bit of grip to your strands to make styling your hair easier. Freshly washed and clean hair is notoriously difficult to style. Strands are slippery and just don’t do what you want them to do. Texturizing spray also adds lots of volume to your hair.

How I Use Texturizing Spray

The best word I can give my hair once it has texturizing spray in it, is grit. My hair looks a little undone, not so perfectly placed. Sometimes I love having the perfect curls, but I also like my hair to have volume and for it to look messy. Texturizing spray gives me the right amount of texturizing, grit and volume to my hair for both updos and wearing my hair down.

I spray at the root of my hair, starting with the bottom layer. I then use my fingertips and build the volume by massaging the spray into the roots of my hair. The crown of my hair is the most important. This is where I like to apply it layer, by layer. This let’s me build on the product and add volume when needed.

As for the curling iron, I sometimes use it before and other times, after putting texturizing spray in my hair. Both give you the desired look, it’s just a different method.

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray

Let me just say I love Oribe’s line of hair products and I recommend you try them. Your hair will thank you! The scent in all of their products is amazing. It’s one of the best out there and it’s definitely signature to their line. Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray is great when you not only need to freshen up your hair but restyle it as well. Some dry shampoos can leave your hair feeling a bit wispy but this gives you that perfect balance.  To use, you just shake the can and spray where desired. It goes on without any powdery residue.

The spray contains antioxidants found in kiwi and passion flower that help your hair maintain moisture balance and will even protect your color. Ginger root softens hair and adds shine by promoting circulation. Oribe’s Copolymer Blend helps hold your hairstyle even longer. It doesn’t contain any parabens or sodium chloride. It’s safe to use on color and keratin treated hair. All of the ingredients work together to nourish your hair and make it look its best. As an added bonus, this product also provides UV protection.
