How to Add Volume to Your Hair With Rogaine

Everyone always talks about the changes in their bodies as they age. I felt prepared for the changes that occurred in mine. It seemed only natural after all. I wasn’t prepared for what would happen to my hair though. I paid extra special attention to my skin with serums and SPF. I made sure to take my vitamins and watch what I was eating. I had overlooked one of my favorite features. I started noticing some hair loss. I was assured hair thinning is normal but as someone that loves full hair with a lot of volume, I wanted to find a solution.

The more I looked into this issue and interacted with my followers I realized I wasn’t the only one. There are a lot of women out there who deal with these types of hair issues especially as they age. I also get a lot of questions from followers with thinner or thinning hair about how to add more volume to their hair. Regardless of how we got here, we all just want the same thing, hair with lots of volume.

The Solution

For months I used argan oil along my hairline, I also take my vitamins, but nothing was really helping with my specific areas. When Rogaine approached us regarding their product, Women’s Rogaine 5% Minoxidil Foam for Hair Regrowth, I was excited to try a product that would target areas of hair loss and thinning.

About Rogaine

Prior to using the Women’s Rogaine 5% Minoxidil Foam for Hair Regrowth, I had always associated the brand with men. Let me tell you, I was wrong. I wish I had discovered this product sooner. Rogaine has made it really easy to use.  It’s a foam you apply once a day and then style your hair like you normally do. It’s also safe to use on color treated hair which was really important to me. It’s FDA proved and clinically proven to regrow hair in 80% of women. The key is to be consistent because results will take some time like all good things. The company also stands behind the findings and guarantees your satisfaction. I love when brands take customer service to the next level.

The Rogaine team invited me to the Mark Garrison Salon for a styling session with Dominick Serna. He gave me a few helpful tips to help build volume when your hair is feeling flat.

5 Easy Ways to Build Volume

Use Volumizing Product

Start with a volumizing product on the crown of your head. Lightly spray the product at the crown of your hair and blow upward.

The Pitch

When you need to build volume at the front of your hair, use your hands and pitch and rub and your hair together. A long time secret of the runway, but an easy way to get a little volume at the roots.

Blow out the Roots in Opposite Direction

If you really want to build volume, blow out your roots in the opposite direction. For example, I sometimes part my hair on the right, so I’ll blow out the hair to the left. It helps give a little bounce when I flip my hair over.

The Flip

If you’re in a pinch and need your hair to look like you just stepped out of a salon, flip your hair and slowly clip back over. You don’t want to flip too fast, because your hair will lay flat again.

Tease your Roots

This is an easy one, but a teasing your roots with a bristle brush is an easy way to build the volume when your hair is feeling flat.

I really hope this product helps other women out there who are struggling with some of the issues that I was. Sometimes you just need a little extra help to give you the fuller look you want. Rogaine has made that possible and has been so easy to incorporate into my regular hair routine.

Have you used Rogaine products before? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section.

After applying Rogains, can I use a curling iron, even if that part of my hair isn’t quite dry??

    Thx,
