Our 5 Favorite Apps for our Business

I wanted to share a little insight into some of the apps we use on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Earlier this month, we shared some of our favorite camera equipment and editing tools we use on the blog here. Each has a specific role and is used across our team.

It may seem like a lot to manage but it’s not and keeps us organized and on task. The biggest piece to all of this and the reason we use them is for transparency. We all need to be on the same page and we all need access to the information from where ever we happen to be that day. Everyone is different, so I’m not saying these are business apps you must use but rather these are options if you are looking to add some business apps to help you going forward. Let us know if you have any questions!

Slack

This has become our new favorite app. It’s our communication system throughout the day. Our team is scattered so we needed a way for all of us to communicate with each other outside of texts/emails. We create channels for different things we are working on, content categories, and can have a group or individual communication channels to keep conversations/topics in the right places.

CoSchedule

This is the app we use to organize and schedule all our content. It also helps keep our sanity in check. Our team has access to it and can see what content is coming up, what needs to be done and make any tweaks we need to throughout the month. You can manage all your social channels from here as well if you choose to. All of our content, whether it is simply scheduled, being shot, ready to post, or already gone live is viewable accessible to the team. It’s our holy grail.

Trello

This is our project management app. This is where we manage all our campaigns from partnership closed, to tracking deliverables, concepts, notes, etc. You create columns and each column is a step. We move campaigns along based on our individual responsibilities allowing all of us to know everything we need about each and every campaign we work on. It’s been a huge help in staying organized.

Conference Now

There are many conference apps out there to choose from so it really is whatever your preference is here. We like anything that is friction-less so this works best for us. For our weekly team calls and anytime we need to hop on the phone together we simply jump on the line. No sign-up, no time, no pain. It does the job.

Wunderlist

This is a personal favorite for Matt. He likes lists. This allows you to create lists for anything really but we use it as our daily to-do lists. Every time you are done you just clear it and can go back and see everything you accomplished and anything that you need to finish up. It’s a great way to stay on task throughout the day and make sure you don’t miss anything. We use it for Trader Joe’s too!

**A couple others that we use as well are Google Drive, Dropbox, and Salesforce. Each holds a purpose and we use them to easily access and share documents. Salesforce allows us to take inventory of our past, present, and potential future business. Matt and I have been using these what seems like our whole career so it is fully ingrained in our day to day.

What are we missing? Anything we need to look into that you think would be valuable. Always open to anything that provides value. Thanks so much for reading!

I am so interested to understand how you use salesforce in your business? I utilize in my career and sales efforts, so I guess I never considered your industry would also have prospects/targets of who you want to work with.

Without getting too crazy in the explanation, we track everything we can. You hit the nail on the head too. The amount of data Salesforce can keep track of, process, and analyze is invaluable.

I wish they were more current! They’re both much older pieces. I got the skirt from Marks & Spencer. I’ll have to double check where the blouse is from but I’ll get back to you!
