How I take care of my hair between Salon Visits
I get a lot of questions about my hair care routine. It took me a long time to figure out which styles and products work for me. I’ve learned a few things to extend my time between salon visits and to keep my hair healthy. These tips are easy things you can incorporate into your existing routine. Before we get to those tips, I included a little something extra below.
Something Different
I’m trying something a little different with this post and adding an additional touch. I thought this story was best told using my voice instead of just words on a screen so take a listen and let me know what you think.
Hair Trims
A lot of you might be surprised to know that between visits to the salon I actually freshen up my hair with some trimming of my own. Don’t worry, I don’t get too crazy. I just use a pair of hair shears. To be honest, I’ve had a couple of mishaps and it’s taken some practice. I don’t recommend this tip for those without a steady hand or shorter hair. It’s just an easy to way to get rid of any split ends and keeps my hair looking healthy.
Dry Shampoo
Dry shampoo can be your hair’s best friend. I’ve been using this one by Dove a lot lately. Washing your hair every day can strip it of the oils it needs to stay healthy and strong. However, you also don’t want to have that greasy feeling. This is where dry shampoo can make a difference. It eliminates that oily look and gives your hair a nice refreshed look. It also extends the life of a blowout which means less heat styling.

Moroccan Oil
After I get out of the shower I apply Moroccan oil to my hair. A little goes a long way. I take a little bit and apply about midway down the length of my hair to the ends. I style my hair as I normally would. It really makes a difference and helps control frizz and flyaways. It also cuts down on drying time.
Hair Masks
A hair mask is a great way to give your hair a little extra pampering. I posted about a few masks to try not too long ago. Between heat styling and harsh weather conditions, it’s important to give your hair a little extra attention. You can do it once a week as needed and leave it in your hair for 5 to 10 minutes then rinse it out. You should notice an immediate difference in how your hair looks and feels.

I loved the voiceover aspect of the post. It kind of felt like we were girlfriends just chatting about hair. I’d love to see it incorporated more in posts! Plus, in my opinion, I think you have a very relaxed and soothing voice. Thanks for your tips!
