Your Everyday Cold Weather Jacket

Hi Everyone! Today is all about that perfect everyday cold weather jacket and the timing couldn’t be better. A couple years ago, I was introduced to the brand, Bernardo Fashions. They make gorgeous leather coats and that’s what they have been traditionally known for. Bernardo is renowned for innovative styling and committed to upholding the global Responsible Down Standard. They ensure all its down-filled coats are created with feathers from birds that have been humanely treated. Boom! Bernardo Fashions is located right here in the heart of NYC’s garment district. They design and manufacture under private labels as well as the Bernardo and collection b brand names. So, not only do they have great leather coats, but they also have a whole line of coats and jackets. Everything from puffer and bomber jackets, sweater coats and more. We did what anyone would do and try them out, right? LOVE!

Women’s Coat

Here in New York City, we are in this awkward weather phase right now. It wants to stay cold but then it will suddenly be in the high 50’s. It can get really cold here in the winter so you never know when the weather is going to turn straight chilly. We are always on the lookout for great jackets/coats that can be worn everyday, so we tried out the Bernardo jackets. When it comes to what we look for in our “city” jackets, they have to meet at least these three key attributes in order to maintain spots in the wardrobe lineup.

Lightweight

It can’t be heavy. I don’t want to be out running errands, going to the gym or exploring the city and lugging around a big heavy coat. I can’t do it unless there’s snow on the ground. The ones you can roll up for travel are great and they are super compact. Bonus: The one I’m wearing has down feathers and still rolls up nice and snug in my bag. It’s perfect for the gym.

Warm

It has to keep me warm. No one likes to be cold. You may like the cold weather but being cold is different. The more comfy and warm the better but it can’t get too heavy. It’s a fine balance. Can’t wait to travel in this one. It gets cold on overnight flights. And if I get warm, I’ll just roll it up and use it as a pillow.

Durable

If I’m wearing it around town, to the gym and at the playground with Sebastian, my jacket better hold up. I wont be walking around the city with holes or tears in my outerwear. The sporty short has held up great.
