5 Hair Masks to try this Spring

With winter finally behind us, it’s now time to give our hair a break from the cold dry air and start preparing our lovely locks for summer. As much as we love the warmer weather, our hair takes a beating with the excessive sun exposure, saltwater and chlorine. If you’re like me, you’ll continue to use your blowdryer, curling iron and straightener. It can really take a toll on our hair.

One way that I moisturize and hydrate my hair between salon visits, is to apply a hair mask 1-2 times a week. Hair masks are one of my biggest hair secrets. The benefit highly outweighs of the cost of the product. When applying hair masks, be sure to only apply to your ends. I never apply masks to the top of head. They tend to weigh down my hair, making it look oily. Start at the ends and leave the masks on for 5-10 minutes. When I want a deep conditioning, I leave it on for a few extra minutes!

Below are five hair masks to try this spring:

Kérastase Discipline Masque Curl Ideal Mask

Price: $27

This is my absolute favorite brand for hair masks, especially for my hair type. This mask is formulate for curly hair. It provided the most moisture and hydration for my hair. The lightweight formula gives my hair the right amount of conditioner to give my split ends an extra lift. A little goes a long ways, when it comes to the Kérastase masks. Typically, I can get 3-4 months out of one container. I start using this mask when I can’t make it to the salon for a trim, it’s the extra hydration I need to get me through till my next salon visit.

All Natural DIY

You’ll likely have honey and oil in your pantry. If you need a quick lift, mix 2 tbsp of honey and 3 tbsp of oil and apply it to the ends of your hair. Put on a shower cap and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair throughly. Wash with your usual shampoo and conditioner. Works like a charm!

Hope you enjoyed the post! What are some of your favorite hair masks?
