A few weeks ago in New York City, I attended the International Vision Expo where the latest eyewear trends were on full display. When I walked into the presentation, it was full of influencers, bloggers, news publications, and other media outlets reporting on the newest trends. It was such an exciting event to attend because sunglasses have always played a huge role in my daily style. There are so many ways to accessorize them and for me, a trendy pair of sunglasses can really pull a whole look together.

What I love most about sunglasses is that the trends are always changing and evolving. It’s also an easy accessory to add to your wardrobe because a great pair of sunglasses doesn’t have to break the bank. With so many options available in the eyewear industry, you always have great options for amazing eyewear can under $100! The pair that I’m wearing today are $118, and are a personal favorite!

TRENDS

As someone who loves a good cat eye frame, I’m excited that it’s coming back but in a less retro-inspired way. While the new look is more subtle, it’s a great, new spin on one of my favorites.

When it comes to color, indigo is currently a huge trend featured on the runways and fashion icons. This is a great splash of color to add to your wardrobe. Do you remember the ombre hair color that so many loved? Well, this is the same idea but now for sunglasses.

We’re also going to see new materials featured with an iridescent look, a wood frame, the tortoiseshell look, and a splatter paint frame. 

Some key shapes you’ll start to see more of are the everyday square and the brow shield, which is a Kardashian favorite. We’ll also be seeing sunglasses with stronger characteristics like the double bridge, chunky round, and double outline details. Really exciting!!

BRANDS

One of my favorite brands at the expo was Coco & Breezy. Her eyewear collection is bold, trendy and eccentric. When it comes to embracing the upcoming trends, Coco & Breezy has it’s hand on the pulse!

Modo Eyewear is a collection of styles shown in different colored metals, wire frames, and the bold brow bar.

When it come frames for both glasses and sunglasses, L.A.M.B is an industry favorite. Her designs and patterns are bold and fun!

Kate Young’s collection is ideal for an everyday pair because they can be worn several ways. Her collection is full of tortoise, round, and wire frames.

Silhouette, who embodies the minimalistic trend, specializes in lightweight eyewear. This collection features a trendy, simple look.

Other brands featured at the expo were Tc Charton, Marcolin Eyewear and Kendall & Kylie.
