Trip To Napa Valley & The Pink Mansion

This last month has been a very busy one for our family. Sebastian has been traveling a lot so far including our most recent trip out to Napa Valley. This was his third flight to date, which is crazy since Matt and I didn’t fly at all growing up. We both took our first flights when we were in high school. For vacation, when we were kids, our families would pile in the car and drive to our destination. Today it’s a little different. With so many options for air travel now, credit card miles, online travel sites, etc., it’s just a lot easier to fly everywhere. Plus, it is getting Sebastian acclimated to being on the go and adjusting to being away from home. This is just the beginning for little Sebastian. It was so exciting to see him getting his passport stamped for the first time a few weeks ago in Mexico!

We were out in California for one of my closest friend’s bachelorette party. It was a great excuse for the family to head out West and show Sebastian around our old stomping ground. Matt and I lived in San Francisco for nearly seven years and one of our favorite weekend getaways was Napa. It is the perfect place to relax and and just enjoy being outside the city for a while. Every trip up we would find a new place to try some wine or champagne. On this trip, Matt took Sebastian around to some of our favorite wineries, while I was out with the girls. I missed them so much even though I saw them in the evenings. Matt and Sebastian would drop me off in the morning and pick me up from the last winery in the late afternoon. We would go grab dinner before heading home for the night.

More of my favorites from the Sachin & Babi collection:

One area that Matt and I never really spent a great deal of time in was Calistoga. We just happened to find the perfect little place to call home for the weekend...The Pink Mansion. It was such a cool place! It was built in 1870, where the owner use to host grand parties for visiting dignitaries and townspeople alike. The detail inside the main living areas and suites was something to behold. So unique and different from the typical places we tend to stay. Our room was a first floor suite with a separate living room including a fireplace and walkout porch. It was perfect and just a short drive to some really cool wineries. If you’re looking for a unique experience in Napa Valley, I highly recommend The Pink Masion.

You might remember during New York Fashion Week, I posted this video from the Sachin & Babi Fall runway show. With such an amazing background, I wanted to photograph one of my favorite designer, Sachin and Babi in front of the gorgeous pink house. This black and ivory dress with long bell sleeves photographed beautifully in front of the pink mansion. I loved the romantic look of this dress, especially the black piping and lace overlay.
