Our NYC Baby Shower!!

This was a gathering of my closest friends here in the city. It was so much fun having everyone come over for brunch and celebrate. One of my friends flew back early from London to be there and another came in from California for the weekend. We don’t get a chance to see each other very often so it was great to play catch-up and run around the city together. Matt and I hosted the shower at our place and we were fortunate enough to have it catered by Nicole Rausch Catering.

Nicole is a New York City based caterer and styling company who brings together a full-service experience for her guests! As you can see in the photos, what she was able to put together was incredible! The food was dynamite. Everything from the frittatas, sandwiches, quinoa salad, breads and more. She also makes the most delicious raspberry & lavender jam. Put some on a biscuit and you are in heaven. A little more about Nicole, because I love her background and experience, she has worked with Marc Jacobs, Sam Edelman, Coach, Vera Wang, just to name a few. Here are a few other places she’s been featured; Martha StewartKinfolkFarm to TableBushwick DailyEat Local NY.

To create a more intimate experience, we moved our reclaimed wood dining table into the living room to display all the food. This might have been my favorite part. The decor she used was perfect. There were these cute little pumpkins paired with the flowers that worked perfectly amongst the food. Her attention to detail was spot-on and made for such a beautiful atmosphere. So rustic! The desserts were provided by Paulette Goto.  She made the most incredible pumpkin whoopie pies and vanilla cupcakes. Hands down the best cupcake I’ve had in my life. Thank goodness we had leftovers! #wherecanwegetmore

Nicole originally started her business by creating jams. All of her ingredients are fresh and from local organic farmers. You could taste the freshness in each and every bite of food. Although I wasn’t able to enjoy an adult beverage, I heard they were delicious. She created a peach bellini with fresh peach puree. I was feeling adventurous, so I created a mocktail with OJ, peach puree and fresh jam. So good!

We have been so incredibly fortunate with everyone getting us the cutest clothes for our little guy. I can’t wait to dress him up and I’m not sure who is more excited, Matt or I. It is going to be so cute to see the two of them dress up together when we go out and about in the city. He has gotten some of the most adorable shoes. Now that we are getting further along with the nursery, we just have to find room to put everything. Can’t wait to share his room with everyone. The process has been so much fun and it’s amazing how creative you have to become when putting together such a small space. It’s all coming together perfectly and beyond our expectations. Stay tuned…
