This Week in Beauty | Update Your Makeup Routine

iT Cosmetics Palette

For a little over a year, I’ve been following the itCosmetic journey. I initially fell in love with their mascara, but they’ve been releasing a variety of products from foundation to skincare! I just started using the Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Palette. It has everything you need to complete your look and it makes for an excellent travel kit. The illuminating powder is my favorite. I’m not sure why it’s taken me this long to get on board with this trend!

House of Lashes Lash Adhesive

After six months of getting lash extensions, I decided to give my lashes a break, along with my pocket book. I LOVE getting lash extensions, but the maintenance and cost doesn’t always make sense. Every year I go through spurts where I get will them regularly and then stop. This time around, I decided to start using false lashes when I want to add a little more glam to my makeup routine. I’m still learning, but the House of Lashes adhesive glue keeps your lashes on all day long!

Urban Decay Setting Spray

When I got married, I started using Urban Decay’s makeup setting spray. A few makeup artists highly recommended it the day of the wedding. It helped to keep the makeup in place and not fade away throughout the day. If you’re coming home after a long day at work and don’t have time to refresh all your makeup. Spray your face with this setting powder and it will give your face a little lift before heading out!

Make Up For Ever Cover Stick

I’ve been on an endless quest to cover up my freckles, so when I saw a friend using this foundation, I had to give it a try. The coverage is thicker than average, especially compared to my everyday MUFE foundation. The foundation is between a liquid foundation and a concealer…and it covers! It doesn’t cover all my freckles, but it does the trick! It also makes your skin look like it’s glowing. It’s not a matte foundation but has more high shine and gloss. I highly recommend for anyone looking for full coverage or shine to their skin (I needed both).

Diorshow Lash Maximizer

This is another component to getting my lashes back in shape. After taking off all my lash extensions, my lashes were incredibly short and somewhat sparse. I knew that I’d need a little extra help to get my lashes back to normal, so I decided to try out this lash primer from Dior. I really like it, but I wouldn’t say I love it. I think my lashes are still too short to really see a big difference, so I’m probably not the best judge here. I’ll give an update next month. I will say, however, people seem to LOVE this lash primer.

Essie Winter Collection

If you’ve seen me on Instagram, you know I love painting my nails. Everything from a biweekly appointment at the salon to my own at-home manicures. The Essie team sent me their Winter Collection. I’m currently wearing Party on a Platform on my toes, but thinking I’m going to try out Ready to Boa the next time I need an updated manicure color.

Shiseido Lash Serum

This is the last component to my lash growth routine. My lashes will naturally grow on their own, but I know that they will take forever to grow back to the original length. I wanted a little help, so I decided to give this lash serum a try and see what happens. My only concern is that I don’t always take off my mascara at night. I know…horrible habit. You need to apply the serum morning and night. After you apply on your brows and lashes, you have to remember to clean the brush before putting back into container. This helps limit bacteria. I’ll do a before and after!

Artis Oval Brush

This brush took me a month to finally start using. I just really liked the packaging and I was slightly intimidated on how to use it. After a few YouTube videos, I perfected the technique. It’s actually super easy. I started using the brush for applying makeup all over my face, but I noticed it does pick up a lot of the foundations, so I decided to stick with my beauty blender for all over application. When applying contour or concealer is when I like using the brush. The blending power is incredible. Say goodbye to makeup lines!

Kat Von D Eye Liner

This is my favorite makeup product. I’ve been using it for over two years now and can’t say enough about this liner. It draws on the perfect cat-eye and gives you a sharp point to get as close as possible to your lash line. I’ve read reviews on Sephora saying that it dries out fast. I’ve had that happen once, but I wouldn’t say that’s normal for the product. Like most liner and mascara, I replace them every few months. It makes for the straightest lines possible! 🙂
