Summer in Central Park

When we first moved to New York, Central Park was one of our favorite places to spend time. During the summer, we’d find any excuse to hang out in the park. Every once in a while, we’d grab a bottle of wine to hang out in the park till sunset. Now that we have Batman, most of our trips consist of biking up to 72nd early in the morning to enjoy “no leash hours” with Batman and all his friends! The winters are beautiful in Central Park, if you’re ever in the city after a big snow storm, wake up early and head up to the park. It’s magical! The park is gleaming with fresh snow, kids are sledding down scattered little hills, couples are making snow angels, and dogs are frolicking in piles of snow. It’s the best!

Early mornings in the park are quiet. It’s a great chance to explore and enjoy all the park has to offer. The other day we went over to the Bow Bridge, a beautiful bridge over the lake that makes you forget all the hustle and bustle of NYC. The outfit I’m wearing is a plaid dress from J.Crew with an Ann Taylor white blazer (on sale). Even though it’s heating up in the city, there was a slight morning breeze so I added the blazer. I love this hat because it blocks the sun and hides my frizzy hair caused from the lovely humidity! For a more comfortable and relaxed look, I wore my Zara lace-up flats. Matt and I love to walk the park and reminisce on all the different adventures we have had within this magical place. It’s amazing the city was able to create such a beautiful park and maintain it with such precision all these years.

No matter how many times we enter Central Park, we always discover something new. On the north side of the Bow Bridge there is a pathway off to the left that leads you to a couple of wooden benches that overlook the lake. If you’re looking for something romantic, this is the perfecting setting!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

The plaid dress I’m wearing is size 4P. I consider this dress a little too short to wear to work, but if I were to get the dress in regular sizing, it would be great to wear to work with a blazer and heels. As you can see in the photos, it looks like I have more of a beer belly than a baby bump. Next Friday marks five months, seems like it flew by! Still feeling good and patiently waiting for December!
