Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! We’re packing up to head back to Boston. We’re going to visit Beacon Hill and eat at Sal’s Pizza. Our first time in Cape Cod, we had an amazing time visiting Provincetown, Chatham, Brewster and Dennis. We didn’t take a ton of photos, but I’ll share all the details of the trip this week.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new collection from Banana Republic, take a peek, they have some great pieces for your workwear and off-duty wardrobe. The dress collection is my favorite, especially this sleeveless maxi and floral dress. On Mother’s Day, I wore the floral dress with a vibrant cardigan and got tons of compliments. I bought the sleeveless dress in petite and the floral dress in normal sizing. As for the dress I’m wearing in today’s post, it’s normal sizing, but now I’m thinking I should have tried it on in petite. With shell tops, they tend to be a little too long for my torso, making bunching in the back and front. For a more fitted look, petite sizing eliminates bunching and makes for a better fit. The dress is a blend of rayon and linen, so you will experience some wrinkles in the dress. For someone who loves nicely ironed clothes, that’s my only con about the dress. Other than that, I love the lightweight texture of the dress. It’s a great piece to have in your summer wardrobe when it’s 100 degrees outside and you don’t want to wear anything heavy. The pinstripes make it appropriate for the office and meetings. With a blazer you can make the dress more professional, whereas without the blazer the dress is more casual.
For a summer look, I paired the dress with high heeled sandal. The heels are no long available in denim linen, but they are available in these other colors via Shopbop. These heels might not be practical for everyone, depending on their tolerance for high heels and their office environment, but you might also like this style here, here and here.
